Karate promotes balanced development of physical fitness and character.

Self-Confidence
Karate helps prepare us for life. The students in our karate classes know that more is expected of them and with encouragement and support from their instructors, they rise to the occasion.

Etiquette
Students are taught from the outset that karate is primarily a defensive and not an offensive martial art. They learn to be polite and respect their fellow students, instructors and elders. They become aware that having good manners requires consideration of others.

Discipline
Dojo discipline is imposed at first and, in time, students develop self-discipline. Their concentration is enhanced as they focus their mind on the job at hand. Many students notice a marked improvement in their powers of concentration.

Minakami Karate provides a safe and fun learning experience. We offer expert instruction in karate, self-defense and personal safety.
